Running a Simple Search

If you're familiar with any search engines then it won't take you long to navigate around the search mechanism on iProfile Recruiter Account, as it is built with simplicity, efficiency and speed in mind.

iProfile Recruiter Account Simple Search

Once you have logged into iProfile Recruiter Account, the main search page will be displayed.

Simple Search Job Title, Employer, Time Range box

Enter the name of the position that you're looking to fill in the Job Title box - for example "project manager". Remember if you are searching on a phrase to always use open and close quotation marks. This ensures that your entered criterion is searched on as one entity rather than separate components.

You can also add the name of an employer for a more detailed search.

As an initial search, we recommend that you leave the Time Range on the default setting "Within Last 1 Job". This means that your search will be targeted at candidates who are currently in the role (and with the employer) that you are searching for.

Add a location to the Location search box - this can be:

  • a town,
  • a city,
  • county,
  • region,
  • country or
  • postcode

As you type, you will notice that a drop down list with the most likely matches will appear in order of population size with the largest population at the top of the list. Simply click on a location to select it.

Location Radius Box

The radius box will automatically populate with a radius of 50 km. You can, of course, change this to reflect a smaller or larger radius but we recommend that you run your initial search without making any changes. Your search will return a broader set of results which you can whittle down later. Remember, this search is based on the candidate's address details and not the candidate’s preferred work locations.

Availability Box

The Availability date is set to 3 Months by default. If you have no availability preferences, leave this field on the default setting.

Keywords Box

To find specific skills, use the Keywords search. This field searches on candidates CVs and is very useful to search on specific areas such as skills.

For this search, leave the Exact Match Only on (all sections are switched on by default and are represented by a white star against a blue background). Don't worry if you have not entered any search criteria in to a section and have left the Exact Match Only on. The system will automatically know to disregard a section with no entered criteria.

Run your search by clicking on the Search button.

The page will refresh and your search results will be displayed in a grid-like format below the main search box after a few seconds. The results will be displayed according to score with the records with the highest score coming higher in the list. If several candidates have obtained the same scoring, the system will automatically use the availability date of each candidate to determine their position on the results grid. For a summary view of a candidate's iProfile, click on the expand icon on the left of each record. You can also view the candidate's full iProfile by clicking on the candidate's name or the View iProfile link or button or view a copy of the CV held by your agency by clicking on the CV icon or the View CV button. If the iProfile is more up to date, the age difference between the iProfile and CV will be displayed on the results grid.
